Origin:

Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1988).
Introduced in New Zealand by Egmont Roses in 1998 as 'Golden Oldie'.

Class:

Floribunda.

Bloom:

Apricot or apricot blend, ages to lighter . Apricot-orange. Mild fragrance. 25 petals. Average diameter 2.75". Small to medium, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Short, compact. Medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: 20" to 35" (50 to 90cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for garden. Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew, susceptible to rust . Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

The breeder's Reference for this rose is Macgolold. The New Zealand Trade Name is 'Golden Oldiei'. This PVR Grant expires June 10, 2022.
