Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1852). Bred by Jean-Baptiste (père) Guillot (1803-1882) (France, 1852).
Introduced in Australia by Northampton Nurseries in 1861 as 'Souvenir de Leveson-Gower'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, spreading.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
