Origin:
Bred by Claude Ducher (1820-1874) (France, 1871).
Introduced in Australia by Hawter’s Nurseries in 1909 as 'Le Nankin'.
Class:
Tea.  
Bloom:
Light yellow, copper shading, lighter center, ages to cream .  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, very double bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Light green foliage.  3 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
