Violet to dark purple, carmine-red shading, deep pink edges, ages to purple . Colour of individual blooms are pink, crimson, dark purple or violet. Moderate fragrance. Average diameter 2.25". Medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Medium green foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Pollen parent was an unknown damask perpetual.
Prince Albert (Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel Saxe-Coburg) was born 26 August 1819 in Bavaria, Germany. He died 14 December 1861 of typhoid fever at Windsor Castle. He is buried at Windsor.
