Bred by Jean Desprez (France, 1841).
Introduced in Australia by Northampton Nurseries in 1861 as 'Comice de Seine-et-Marne'.
Class:
Bourbon.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, crimson shading.  Medium to large, very double, cluster-flowered, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Thornless (or almost).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
