Bloom:
Pink. Strong, old rose fragrance. 100 to 110 petals. Average diameter 2.75". Medium, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, dense. Matte, leathery foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.
Height: 35" to 43" (90 to 110cm). Width: up to 2' (up to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.

Notes:
The Plant Science Dept. of the Nova Scotia Agriculture College evaluated 58 English Roses to assess their hardiness and disease-resistance. Their results can be found at: http://www.nsac.ns.ca/nsac/ps/annual96/mapple.htm. The Countryman was found to be reasonably tolerant to blackspot.
