Origin:
Bred by Dr. Franz Hermann Müller (Germany, circa 1894).
Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1909 as 'Johanna Sebus'.

Bloom:
Cerise, salmon-yellow highlights.  Satiny rose shot with yellow.  Strong, sweet fragrance.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  

Height: 6'7" to 9'10" (200 to 300cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.

Johanna Sebus (December 28, 1791 Brienen - January 13, 1809 Brienen), saved her mother from the floods of the Rhine upon a breach in the dikes, then dies herself as she tried to save further People. Goethe dedicated 1809 a ballad to her.
