Origin:
Bred by Philippe-Victor Verdier (France, 1835).
Class:
Bourbon, Hybrid Noisette, Hybrid Perpetual, Portland.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, violet edges.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
A Bourbon-Portland hybrid.
At one time, Verdier was located at Neuilly-sur-Seine.
