Irish Wonder (McGredy, 1962). This rich non-fading blood orange variety which is quite extraordinary is tremendously popular overseas and we can quite understand this by the very vivid colouring. It is very free flowering and a bed of 'Irish Wonder' is a most effective setting. It is a fairly compact grower, producing blooms freely in clusters....

p33 E. F. Allen. Awards to New Rose Seedlings in Great Britain in 1963. Gold Medal to 'Evelyn Fison'.
This is a very fine floribunda with dark green, healthy foliage, of medium height and with large, well proportioned trusses of double flowers of a very bright turkey red. it completed its trials at St. Albans in 1962 when it was, I think, unlucky not to have been awarded a Gold Medal. However, the ommission was made good at this year's Autumn show. It has no scent.
