Origin:
Bred by Gebr. Leenders / Leenders Bros. (Netherlands, before 1925).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1925 as 'Kardinal Piffl'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Orange-red, golden-yellow reverse.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, compact, dense, well-branched.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.

Notes:
Friedrich Gustav Kardinal Piffl (October 15, 1864 Landskron - April 21, 1932 Vienna), Archbishop of Vienna (1913-1932), Cardinal since May 25, 1914.
