Bred by Jean Pernet (père) (France, 1892).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Général Baron Berge'.

Dark red, violet outer petals.  Strong fragrance.  50 petals.  Large, semi-double to double bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
