Origin:
Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, before 1958).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Samuel McGredy and Son, Nurserymen (Northern Ireland) in 1959 as 'Gold Crown'.
Introduced by Unknown (Australia) in 1961 as 'Gold Crown'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Deep yellow, ages to lighter .  Strong fragrance.  35 petals.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
