Bred by Daniel Boll (United States, 1854).
Introduced in France by Portemer in 1855 as 'Souvenir de Henry Clay'.
Class:
Hybrid Spinosissima.  
Bloom:
Light pink.  Medium, full (26-40 petals), scalloped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Small foliage.  
Growing:
Hardy.

Notes:
Henry Clay: born 12 April 1777, died 29 June 1852. Clay was a lawyer, state representative, United States Senator, Congressman, Speaker of the House, a peace commissioner, and Secretary of. Although he ran for the office of President, he never won.
