Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste Croibier (France, 1924).
Introduced in France by Croibier & fils in 1931 as 'Maréchal Lyautey'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1933 as 'Maréchal Lyautey'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
Louis Hubert Gonzalve Lyautey, French marshal, born at Nancy 17 November 1854. Died at Thorey 21 July 1934.
