Sonja Henie was figure skating's first international superstar. Winner of three Olympic gold medals and ten consecutive world championships, Henie was born in Oslo, Norway, 8 April 1912. She died on 12 October 1969 in an airplane en route to Oslo. The Henie-Onstad Art Center also known as the Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter in Oslo, Norway, is a museum for modern
international art and also houses trophies of Olympic ice-skating champion Sonja Henie.
