Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1937).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1937 as 'Gwendoline Collins'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Carmine - or cerise, shaded cherry red. large petals..  Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, compact.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
William Collins, born in 1846 (in the Albert River district), leased Nindooinbah Station, Queensland on his marriage in 1900 to a beautiful young New Zealander, Gwendoline Roberts. He bought the property in 1906 and Gwendoline and a team of gardeners made the garden a glory of the district.

Proceeds from the sale of this rose were donated to the National Rose Society of Victoria.
