Origin:
Bred by George Paul (1841-1921) (United Kingdom, 1901).
Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1909 as 'The Wallflower'.
Class:
Hybrid Multiflora.  
Bloom:
Crimson to red, ages to carmine-pink .  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), in small clusters, cupped, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  Large foliage.  

Height: up to 4'11" (up to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
