Armed with thorns / prickles, suckers on its own roots, well-branched.  

Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).  Width: up to 5' (up to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6a through 9b.  Blooms tend to ball in wet weather.

Notes:
Joan of Arc [Jeanne d'Arc], also known as "La Pucelle" and "The Maid of Orleans", French general. Born circa 1412, she was burned at the stake 30 May 1431. She was canonized on 16 May 1920. Her feast day is celebrated 30 May and in France there's a national festival in her honor on the second Sunday in May.
