Origin:
Bred by Jacques-Julien Margottin père (1817-1892) (France, 1852).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Triomphe de Paris'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red, violet shading, ages to darker .  Very large, full (26-40 petals), open bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.
