Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, before 1920).
Introduced in Australia by E. & W. Hackett Ltd. in 1922 as 'Kitty Kininmonth'.

Hybrid Gigantea, Hybrid Tea, Cl..  

Carmine-pink, golden-yellow stamens.  Moderate fragrance.  20 to 25 petals.  Average diameter 5".  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  

Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns.  

Height: 9'10" to 14¾' (300 to 450cm).  Width: 9'10" (300cm).

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Fran Cleland in Australia shares this information: "Kitty Kininmonth, which apparently you can get in the USA, was only 26 when she died, six weeks after giving birth to her first child... hard times in the 20's... at an even younger age, she drove a field ambulance in the first World War... each rose in the Alister Clark Rose Garden carries a plaque telling things about the person (or horse) it was named for.
