Crimson. Mild fragrance. 20 to 46 petals. Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), in small clusters, flat bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Upright. Wrinkled (rugose) foliage.
Height: up to 4'11" (up to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
Breeder's notes:
South Dakota State College Bulletin 224 states that this rose's pedigree is a 'Wild rose from Lake Oakwood, South Dakota X General Jacqueminot. Flowers semi double, crimson, blooming through July and August; leaves of rugosa type. About 20 petals and 26 petaloids." p. 53

Parentage is Wild rose from Lake Oakwood (S. Dak.) ✕ Gén. Jacqueminot. This rose blooms through July and August, leaves are rugosa type, flowers are semi double and crimson with about 20 petals and 26 petaloids according to Hansen's comments in the university bulletin 224. (This would be zone 4, South Dakota).
