Bred by Pedro (Pere) Dot (Spain, before 1926).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1929 as 'Madame Grégoire Staechelin'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Cl., Large-Flowered Climber.  
Bloom:
Light pink, darker shading.  Moderate fragrance.  9 to 16 petals.  Average diameter 3.75".  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, open, ruffled bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  Large, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Large, glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 8' to 20' (245 to 610cm).  Width: 10' to 20' (305 to 610cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 10a.  Can be used for garden, landscape or pillar.  Very vigorous.  drought resistant.  produces decorative hips.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.
