Bred by Percy H. Wright (Canada, 1947).
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Lilac.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  
Growing:
USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Very hardy.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
‘Mary L. Evans’ x ‘Alika’ (R. gallica grandiflora) or R. rugosa hyb. x ‘Alika’
A letter from P. Wright to Brian Porter dated 31 Jan. 1974 states parentage as a hybrid Hansa and Therese Bugnet but in 1950's (in Dakota Horticulture) he speculates that the parentage was likely the same as for 'Ruth', Named after his daughter.
