Bred by Conrad Peter Strassheim (Germany, 1907).

Class:

Hybrid Multiflora.

Bloom:

Red. Blood-red. Medium, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Height: up to 9'10" (up to 300cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Very vigorous.

Parentage:

Rosa multiflora Thunb. × Crimson Rambler

Notes:

Eleonore Ernestine Marie (September 17, 1871 Lich - November 16, 1937), Princess of Solms-Hohensolms-Lich, last Grand Duchess of Hessen and Rhein. She died in a plane crash at Ostende together with her oldest son, his wife and their two children.
