Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer. Hardy.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
I found this in the town of Vermillion, South Dakota so gave it the study name of Vermillion Pink (not because it has shades of red in it). This is about 4 ft tall and growing in an alley in the shade. I've since seen it at least 10-12 ft tall and 6-8 ft wide growing along a garage. It was huge! It is very attractive and hardy here. However, I can't seem to identify it. It has few thorns on older canes (and the canes turn very dark, almost black with age). It does get some blackspot here in humidity. Mine is starting to throw out suckers so it will get quite wide.
Thank you for any help in identifying this. If you'd like a cutting of it, it roots easy and is a spectacular rose for colder zones (and is impressive in bloom because it is so big and covered with the deep pink blooms).
