The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the shrub rose class which was originated by my crossing as seed and pollen parents two unnamed, unpatented, proprietary seedlings of our creation.
Notes:
Arena Rose Co.'s Catalog 2000 says Newport (aka 'Memory Bells', 'Waxwing') produces an abundance of old-fashioned blooms of medium pink... Parentage: Seedling x 'Rosenholm'...

Michael at Michael's Premier Roses describes this as an old garden rose look with 3-inch heavily petaled blooms...

The Roseraie at Bayfields says Waxwing is like a miniature 'English Miss' with clouds of little high-centered pink blooms...

According to Ludwigs Roses, Sean McCann was impressed with this rose when he saw it growing at their nursery and he suggested the name.
