Notes:
Laure de St.Martin de Permond, Duchess of Abrantes (November 6, 1784 Montpellier - June 7, 1838), French author, descending on her mother's side from the Greek dynasty of Comnenes, married Général Jean-Andoche Junot in 1799. After his suicide in 1813, she wrote several novels (e.g. "l'Amirante de Castille in 1827) and published an 18-volume "Mémoires" (1831-34) with many trivia on the imperial court. Balzac is said to have been her lover after 1828.
