Origin:
Bred by Gebr. Leenders / Leenders Bros. (Netherlands, before 1925).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1928 as 'Villa Pia'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red, darker highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Upright, well-branched.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Expands with difficulty. Different opinions on parentage (see References)
