Bloom:
Deepest velvet purple/crimson. Mild, carnation, clove, pepper fragrance. 70 to 120 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, very full (41+ petals), flat to cupped, quartered bloom form. Prolific, once-blooming spring or summer. Medium, rounded buds.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, mounded. Medium, matte, medium green, leathery foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.
Height: 3' (90cm). Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 8b. Can be used for garden or specimen. Very hardy. shade tolerant. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, very blackspot resistant., mildew resistant, very rust resistant. Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy. Remove unproductive wood every third year or so. This rose blooms on old wood.
Breeder's notes:
This seedling has the darkest, richest color of most any Gallica I know, comparable to, but redder than 'Tuscany Superb'.
