Colin P. Horner, The 1993 Rose Seedling Awards in Great Britain.
One of the two top awards went to 'Baby Love' (T.G. 1006), a very unusual Dwarf Cluster Flower Shrub producing masses of buttercup yellow single flowers on an upright bushy plant. The blooms have a good fragrance. It was raised by amateur breeder Len Scrivens from 'Sweet Magic' x a seedling with R. davidii elongata in its parentage. The seedling also won the Torridge Award.....The 1991-93 Trials were a remarkable triumph for amateur hybridiser Len Scrivens from Kidderminster. Only two seedlings were submitted by him and to receive Gold Medal and Certificate of Merit Awards was a sensational achievement. These seedlings, both of which are extremely healthy, result from over a decade of work using Rosa Davidii elongata and his patience and persistence have paid off.
