Bred by Meilland International (France, 1989).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1989 as 'Red Meidiland'.
Introduced in France by URS (Universal Rose Selection)-Meilland in 1990 as 'Red Meidiland'.

Shrub.  
Bloom:
Red, white center, darker reverse.  None / no fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 2.75".  Single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in large clusters, flat to cupped bloom form.  Prolific, continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  Medium buds.  
Habit:
Short, spreading.  Semi-glossy, medium green, dense, leathery foliage.  

Height: 1' to 16" (30 to 40cm).  Width: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2b through 8b.  Can be used for garden or landscape.  Very hardy.  produces decorative hips.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.
