Bloom:
Rose-red, fuchsia / magenta shading, silver(y) reverse. Strong fragrance. 40 petals. Average diameter 5". Very large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Medium. Glossy, bronze-green, leathery foliage.
Height: 35" to 4¼' (90 to 130cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden. Vigorous. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot . Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

In September 1998, the Montreal Botanical Garden (Le Jardin Botanique de Montreal) carried out a survey of its roses' resistance to black spot, powdery mildew and rust. This is one of the outstanding varieties which showed a 0% to 5% infection rate. The data was taken on well-established roses
Steven emailed the following information about this rose: This rose is one of 'Peace's many offspring, and was introduced exactly 100 years after the Hybrid Perpetual 'Baroness Rothschild'. It is named after the wife of Baron Edmund de Rothschild.
