Origin:
Bred by Flon, père (France, before 1837).
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1837 as 'Antinous'.
Class:
Damask Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson or violet, purple shading.  Center crown.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Glandular sepals buds.  
Habit:
Dark green foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Possibly identical with the Bourbon 'Antinous' of Bizard (1833).
