Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Professeur Koch'.

Cherry-red and carmine-red. Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer.
