Introduced in Australia by Thomas Johnson in 1866 as 'William Taylor'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark velvety crimson - or bright scarlet.  Globular bloom form.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:

Notes:
It seems likely that the breeder, T. Johnson, was honouring a fellow nurseryman, William Taylor, who owned Vice-Regal Nurseries, in Toorak, Victoria, Australia.
