Bred by Marie aka Veuve (vve, widow) Ducher (1834-1881) (France, 1880).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Rosiériste Jacobs'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Red, darker shading, ages to lilac .  Fringed petals.  Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.
