p39 Ron Bell. Rose Breeding in Australia. ‘Janette Murray’. This should appeal to the flower arranger because of its long stems and orange pink colour. Its parentage (‘Daily Sketch’ seedling by ‘Montezuma’) would suggest a floribund-hybrid tea type but it is a large flowered variety.

p55 The Australian Rose Award, 1987 [to] Mr. R. J. Bell. ….Other Bell roses of note are … and ‘Janette Murray’ – all fine roses ranking with the best roses imported into Australia. Royalties from ‘Janette Murray’ were directed to the Red Cross which received a cheque for $1,580 covering the first year of its introduction.

Named for Lady Murray, a keen rose lover, wife of the Governor of Victoria, Sir Brian Murray.
