Something odd is happening with my White Maman Cochet. This photo was taken today (27/9/18) and is the receptacle of a flower in full bloom just a week ago. I went to remove some remnant petals (that were still clean) and noticed the receptacle was abnormally large, looking more like a developing hip. This bloom didn't seem to have any reproductive parts. The 'hip' measured about 2.5cm across.
It's weird. Has anyone else seen abnormally large receptacles like this before?
