Origin:
Bred by Georges Bugnet (Canada, circa 1935).
Class:
Species Cross.  
Bloom:
Red.  Vivid red.  5 petals.  
Habit:
Arching, bristly .  

Height: 7' to 8' (215 to 245cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer.  Very hardy.  very vigorous.  
Breeder's notes:
". . . one of the seedlings later on was married to R. amblyotis, a red Siberian wild rose. The result was a very strong growing shrub, 7 to 8 feet tall, with vivid red, single blooms from the end of June until the end of July, canes very hairy, thorns being pliant, somewhat like hard rubber" (p. 112).
