Origin:
Bred by Georges Bugnet (Canada, circa 1938).
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  5 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Large bloom form.  
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer.  
Breeder's notes:
"Later on the pollen of this new shrub [Bugnet's 'elastic'] was used on R. rugosa florepleno. Part of the seedlings have flowers with 18 to 20 petals, glowing pink or light red, while one has a large single bloom of a beautiful deep velvety crimson" (p. 112).
