Bloom:
Crimson. 5 petals. Average diameter 3". Large bloom form.
Breeder's notes:
"Later on the pollen of this new shrub [Bugnet's 'elastic'] was used on R. rugosa florepleno. Part of the seedlings have flowers with 18 to 20 petals, glowing pink or light red, while one has a large single bloom of a beautiful deep velvety crimson" (p. 112). --Georges Bugnet, "The Search for Total Hardiness" (American Rose Annual 1941, pp. 111-115).
