No pruning necessary except to remove the past season's flower stems.
Betty Prior... Dark carmine. The attractive blooms are produced in large clusters on strong upright stems, unaffected by rain or sun. Perpetual flowering. Fragrant. Habit of growth strong and very vigorous. A splendid variety for bedding, low hedges, or massing. Recommended. Introduced 1935.

Betty Prior. (Prior) is not unlike 'Else Poulsen', with tall growth and perpetual flowering qualities.

New Roses 1936.  Betty Prior  (Hyb. Poly.  D. Prior & Son 1934) Dark carmine flowers approximately 4in. across, produced in large clusters on strong upright stems, the colour being retained till the petals fall. Perpetual flowering and fragrant, with strong and very vigorous growth and mildew resisting foliage. 4/- each.
Tall grower, somewhat like 'Else Poulsen' in colour, but darker. Very promising.
