Found Rose, Hybrid China, Tea.  

Lemon-yellow, ages to white .  

Short.  

"Jane Cranston" found in a NSW Cemetery. Presumed to be a pre-1909 rose as it was actually planted in a little triangle between graves as part of a cemetery planting scheme. Apparently new sections were landscaped prior to release.

Mentioned in Jane Zammit's list of Rookwood roses August 10, 2007 wherein she noted possibly same as Vestey & Dr. Russell.

Document from Pat Toolan October 28, 2003 mentions: “Jane Cranston – china soft lemon yellow”

Possible identifications
'Isabella Sprunt', 1865. similar, but bud and receptacle seem to be different.
'Mme. Chedane-Guinoisseau', 1880
'Harry Kirk', 1907

Identifications rejected
'Caroline Kuster' 1872. Form and colouring seem different.
'Chromatella', 1843. One photo looked similar, but "Jane Cranston" is a lower bush than 'Chromatella'.
'Medea', 1891. The original was said to be vigorous and strong.
'Rival de Paestum', 1841. Different bloom
"Vestey's Yellow" syn "Mulvay Rose". "Jane Cranston" has straighter thorns.


Pedicel
Glandular. Receptacle/pedicel are green in summer changing to red in autumn (fall)
