Bloom:
Cerise and fuchsia / magenta, lighter reverse. Strong fragrance. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Breeder's notes:
The well shaped flowers of this variety are very large, fully double and scented, in exceedingly rich tones of magenta, cerise and purple, charmingly set off by a lighter reverse- the effect is reminiscent of sunlight vibrating on a traditional Kanchipuram silk sari. Kanchipuram is a temple town in southern India, in the state of Tamil Nadu, and traditionally for centuries has been famous for its silk weaving and the exquisite saris that are hand produced here. From the early centuries of the Christian era, there has been trade between this region ruled by the Pallava kingdom and China.
