Blanc Double de Coubert is the most truly white rose I have grown. It's so white I can't take a good picture of it. It is reliably hardy in zone 2 (Winnipeg, MB) but doesn't grow particularly quickly. Mine is around 6 years old and hasn't produced any suckers.

I purchased this rose from a supplier and planted it last year in my garden. It did not flower. This year it is now showing buds but they are RED. Does this rose have a red version. It is possible that I have mixed it up with other plantings but the only other rose that has not flowered in my garden is a Charles De Mills. I know this is a red rose but the bushes are totally different. From all that I can see and read I can't figure it out, it does not seem that I mixed them. My Blanc bush is very bushy, green and the leaves are crinkly and in sevens or nines. The Charles de Mills have flat darker leaves in fives. Any thoughts?

Some white roses have red buds, or an initial flush of pink. They still come out white.

I have contacted most of the nurseries and gardens listed in "Buy From" to purchase the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plant. All of those whom I contacted, said that they did not have the plant. Would it be more accurate to not advertize them among those who presently sell the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plant? This would help those like me who are looking for a nursery that sells the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plants.

Would you have a moment to spare, and recommend a nursery to me that presently does sell the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plant in containers or pots, to be shipped?

Would you please reply to me at bferoze@aol.com

Thank you.

Nursery owners are welcome to update their nursery listings as often as they like. We welcome their participation to update their plant list to reflect changes in stock but it is not possible for us repeatedly review every nursery's current inventory and update HMF accordingly. We do not have the resources for a monumental task like that. Instead, we freely provide the tools for nursery owners to revise their HMF listing whenever they like. In the absence of them doing so, we update their listings as often as we can manage.

HMF should be used as a starting point and can not guarantee a nursery will still have a given plant in stock. However, premium membership does provide a "inventory verification" option that allows you to automatically query a nursery about current availability of the plants listed on your HMF plant wish list.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I have contacted most of the nurseries that are listed on "Buy From" for the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plants. All of those whom I contacted said that they did not have them. Yet, their name remains in the "Buy from" for this plant. I will consider becoming your "premium member" if I can have any assurance that I will find sellers of this plant as a result of becoming a member.

Thank you kindly.

You are most welcome.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but even a premium membership does not guarantee we can locate a supplier for you. I suggest you register (free) and add this plant to your HMF wish list. That way, we'll contact you if and when a nursery lists this plant as available.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your reply. Would you be willing to contact me at bferoze@aol.com when a nursery lists the Blanc Double de Coubert rose plant as available?

I read that June is the "rose" month.

Thank you.

Please see the features page about how the HMF wish list works. Also, it is not necessary to include your email address in the message text and we prefer you do not as it attracks email spam harvesters to the website.

My Blanc Double de Coubert is at least 15 years old, disease free, repeat blooms in clusters all summer, and sends out shoots underground to make the bush much larger, (or shoots can be carefully cut off with roots attached to form a new rose plant). Grows to about 5ft, is very fragrant, and even after the last four years of neglect, is still alive and doing well. The only problem it sometimes has, that occurs only when it is extremely hot & humid, is that the flowers will ball up instead of opening completely. The only pruning I've ever done is spent blossoms, or old dead canes. My rose has never been winter protected, and I would recommend this rose for anyone.
