Bred by Jouvain (France, before 1826).
Introduced in France by Jean Laffay in before 1830 as 'Fénelon'.
Introduced in France by Julien-Alexandre Hardy / Roseraie du Luxembourg in before 1837 as 'Fénelon'.
Class:
China / Bengale.  
Bloom:
Deep pink to red, purple shading, ages to light purple .  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), semi-globular bloom form.  Glandular sepals buds.  
Habit:
3 to 5 leaflets.
