The Boursault Rose.
The Blush Boursault is, in its flowers, larger and more full than most others of the species. They are of a deep flesh-color, passing into a lighter shade towards the edge. It can scarcely owe its qualities to the Boursault race alone, but seems to be a hybrid of some of the Chinese roses. When in perfection, it is much the best of the group, but requires a warmer and brighter aspect than the others. It is, however, perfectly hardy. This variety is also called Calypso, De l'Isle, The White Boursault, and Florida.

Rosa alpina Boursaultii. ...

"Rose Stocks" by John Saul, Durdham Down Nursery, Bristol.
(Communicated November 24, 1849.)
Blush and other Boursaults I notice merely to caution growers against using them: they are at all times extremely subject to mildew, and when worked are liable to decay; indeed they but seldom grow well.

The Alpine or Boursault Rose.
2. Blush, Calypso, De l'Isle, Florida, White Boursault; flowers blush, their centre deep flesh, very large and very double; form, globular. Habit, pendulous; growth, vigorous, the plant holding its leaves longer than others of the group. Exceedingly rich as a climbing Rose when planted in good aspect, which it requires to develop its flowers in full beauty. Apparently a hybrid between the Boursault and Chinese, possessing the climbing habit of the former group.

Boursault Roses. Rosa Alpina.
This class of Roses is distinguished by the young shoots being usually of a reddish purple hue. The varieties are also of remarkably vigorous growth, forming shoots of 12 feet or more in a season, and producing a great profusion of elegant flowers. They are perfectly hardy, as their Alpine origin would indicate. The flowers are cupped where not otherwise noted.
969. Blush or White AKA Bengal Florida AKA Belle de Lisle, Large pale flesh color, pink centre, protuberant, globose, splendid, vigorous growth, very early, 50 cents.
