Damask, Hybrid Gallica.  

Cream, ages to white .  Strong, damask fragrance.  Average diameter 3.25".  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), flat, quartered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  

Height: 39" to 5'1" (100 to 155cm).  Width: up to 3' (up to 90cm).

USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Prune after flowering is finished.  

Named after Markos Botzaris (1788 - 1823), Greek patriot who fell in the uprising against the Ottoman Empire. His death was celebrated in various poems and plays of the period.
