'Markanta' rose Description

EXCELLENT.
Bloom:
Deep pink and red blend, silver(y) reverse, ages to pink . None to mild, opinions vary fragrance. 110 petals. Average diameter 3.5". Medium to large, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, flat to cupped, rosette bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium buds.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy. Medium, semi-glossy, leathery foliage.
Height: 31" to 47" (80 to 120cm). Width: 2' to 39" (60 to 100cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6a and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose or garden. Vigorous. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
Breeder's notes:
There is a white blotch on the base of petals. This plant originated from a controlled cross. The two parents were crossed during the summer 2019.
