[From the website of Museum Geelvinck in Heerde, Netherlands:] Roelof Buisman Jr. cultivated the rose 'Belle van Zuylen' on the occasion of the celebration of the 250th birthday of Belle van Zuylen by the Belle van Zuylen Society in 1990.
Dedicated to Isabella Agneta Elisabeth van Tuyll van Serooskerken (Belle van Zuylen) (October 20, 1740 Zuilen - December 27, 1805 Colombier), Dutch author (in French language) and composer, who on February 17, 1771 married Charles-Emmanuel de Charrière de Penthaz (1735-1808) (a.k.a. Isabelle de Charrière), and lived in the Principality of Neuchâtel (today part of Switzerland).
