Origin:
Bred by Lex Voorn (Netherlands, 1999).
Class:
Florists Rose, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Pink, purple shading, red reverse.  None to mild fragrance.  38 to 55 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, very full (41+ petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Large, matte foliage.

‘Lexaanas’ was the resultant seedling from a cross between an unnamed seedling ‘LR98-25’ and ‘Schosonne’ in May 1999. The seed parent is characterised by red flower colour. The pollen parent is characterised by dark pink flower colour. The initial selection took place in Jan 2000 from a population of seedlings and was trialled and tested for its suitability as a cut rose variety until its final selection in Mar 2003. All work was conducted by or under the supervision of Lex Voorn at his property in Kudelstaart, The Netherlands.
First sold in Kenya in Apr 2004.
